Building Competency on
Fire and Explosion Hazard Control

The Trainings We Provide

Through effective safety training, members in an organization can understand the unsafe conditions of a process that can lead to harmful or disastrous consequences, so that they can identify hazardous conditions and take appropriate actions in their works such as project planning, design, purchasing, manufacturing, and maintenance to ensure safety.

Companies rely on the knowledge, skills, and experience of their staff to ensure an acceptable levels of process safety in their facilities. Knowing the potential knowledge gaps is critical for achieving this goal. Our training courses are designed to fill the potential knowledge gaps and building up competency of your staff on the fire and explosion subject matters.

Our courses cover the following important subjects of process safety:

  • Dust Explosion Hazards and Controls - These courses explain how dust explosion and fire hazards arise, and discuss how these hazards can be minimized or controlled. The courses present the practical techniques available for both preventing dust explosions and protecting people and facilities, and discuss the effectiveness of various techniques for your processes and operations.

  • Electrostatic Hazards and Controls – These courses explain how and where electrostatic charge is generated, how electrostatic spark is produced, and how electrostatic sparks can ignite various flammable and/or combustible gases, liquids, and dusts. While electrostatic phenomena may appear to be erratic, these courses present and discuss how to analyze electrostatic hazards, and what effective solutions can be applied to your processes and operations.

  • Flammable Gases and Liquid Hazards and Controls - These courses illustrate how flammable gases and liquid fires, and explosions can be initiated easily, how gas and liquid fires and explosions can be easily accelerated by environmental factors, and how we can minimize the likelihood of ignition and minimize the consequences of gas and liquid fires and explosions. The courses present the practical techniques available for both preventing gas and liquid fires and explosions, and discuss the effectiveness of various techniques for your processes and operations.

  • Self-Heating/Spontaneous Combustion Hazards and Controls – These courses illustrate the chemical and physical principles of self-heating/spontaneous combustion, and explain why fires and ensuing explosions can occur without an apparent external ignition sources. We will devote most of the time to discuss ways to minimize this ignition risk and the consequences of such events.

  • Electrical (Hazardous) Area Classifications - These courses explain why Electrical Area Classifications are based on fire and explosion hazard assessments, and how manufacturing and other facilities that handle or process flammable materials (powders, gases and vapors) can be classified in order to effectively and cost-effectively prevent the electrical ignition hazards.

How Do We Help

To provide effective safety training services, we have the following considerations in mind:

  • Our goal is to assist you to establish the required competency of your management and safety staff as well as other concerned employees on the subject matters in order to ensure the process safety your facilities.

  • We tailor-make the courses suitable to the specific audience who may be engineers, EHS professionals, manufacturing, or maintenance personnel.

  • We also take into account the specific industry, processes and materials of the client.

  • We present the fundamentals that are required for understanding the subject matters, and devote most of the time to practical solutions on preventing the hazards and protecting the people, equipment, and properties in your facilities from the destructive impacts.

  • Our courses are delivered either in private in-company events, in public settings or online. We also provide small group or individual consultations. Often, we provide trainings during a consulting project such as a hazard or risk assessment or an incident investigation.

Why Work with Us

Our experts will bring their in-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experiences into the classroom, which include:

  • Extensive experiences on hazard assessments for industries across-the-board, including chemical, pharmaceutical, food, petroleum, metal powders, plastic and rubber, coating and paint, fertilizers, to name a few;

  • Extensive research and laboratory evaluations of dust fire and explosions, gas fire and explosions and electrostatic discharges;

  • Successful experiences in investigations of dust and gas/vapor fires and explosions and identifications of the ignition sources; and

  • Extensive experience of giving safety trainings to engineers, EHS professionals, management, and operation/maintenance personnel, as well as governmental officials.
